TRAIL REPORT

December 13, 2019

It is early in the season and there are some trails not open yet due to wet areas and downed trees from our latest storms, and a few landowners have their gates closed for muzzle loading season, which ends today. The Curtis groomer should be heading out on the trails after today. We received another 8" of snow yesterday.

The State trails are open. The trail from Rexton to Newberry was groomed. The trail to Paradise is OK and the trail to the Tahquamenon Falls has been closed due to the wet areas. The weather has returned to being cold. Trail 2 from Engadine to Curtis will not be ready for a while due to major wet areas. The groomers were in the Museum last Saturday and said they almost got the groomer stuck in the mud.

Don't forget you can stay in Naubinway and travel anywhere on the trails from here. Contact the Adoba Naubinway Hotel for info.

While you are in the area, be sure to check out the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum in Naubinway. Trail 2 comes into Naubinway and follow the trail through Naubinway. You will drive in front of the new Museum, which opened in Oct. 2013. There is plenty of room to park your sleds and you can see a fantastic variety of 180+ sleds and memorabilia from the past.  The regular hours are 9-5 pm, every day, all year, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.  906-477-6298.   Admission: $5 for adult,  Kids 16 & under - Free
