Twin Lakes Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

TRAIL REPORT

This is the Keweenaw Snowmobile Trail System Report for Friday, March 3, 2017.

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and trails are in fair to good condition.

Groomers are out.

We are unable to groom Trail #3 between the Portage Lift Bridge and South Range due to the extremely low snow cover.  Trails south of South Range to Twin Lakes are still being groomed.

The CopperDog 150 sled dog race will be held on portions of the Keweenaw Trail System March 3rd through March 5th.  Please use caution and take advantage of alternate routes.

All of Trail #122 is closed for logging.  Use Trail 124 to get to Gay.

Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers.  They have the right away.

The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, drive safely.  The signs on the trails are there for riders’ safety so please DO NOT remove or destroy them.

Snowfall Report:

Snowfall in the Keweenaw Peninsula – 32 inches of snow on the ground, 241 inches fallen to date as of 3/3/17.
