March 9, 2020

The Naubinway trails received about 8" of beautiful, fresh snow 4 days ago. but the warmer temps have made the trails rough today (reports have been coming in from snowmobilers coming into the Museum). It has been too warm for the groomer to go out. The first 1/2 mile east of Naubinway is icy and rough. The Curtis trails are rerouted around the swamp areas. The Germfask trails are shut down and rerouted. Please note that your GPS might not know about the reroute. The temperature has been in the 20's during the day, but very cold at night so the trails have a good base. We got a report of a moose sighting on the trail between Curtis and Engadine last week, so always be ready for anything. Please remember to thank the groomer operators - they are short-handed and Mother Nature has been quite a challenge this year.

Don't forget you can stay in Naubinway and travel anywhere on the trails from here. Contact the Adoba Naubinway Hotel for info.

While you are in the area, be sure to check out the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum in Naubinway. Trail 2 comes into Naubinway and follow the trail through Naubinway. You will drive in front of the new Museum, which opened in Oct. 2013. There is plenty of room to park your sleds and you can see a fantastic variety of 180+ sleds and memorabilia from the past.  The regular hours are 9-5 pm, every day, all year, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.  906-477-6298.   Admission: $5 for adult,  Kids 16 & under - Free

Be sure to check out the new website for the Naubinway/Engadine area: and the Museum site,   Drive safely!!!
