Naubinway Engadine Area Trail Conditions report provided to you by the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum. Visit their website at www.snowmobilemuseum.com |
March 29, 2026
2026 has taken off with some excellent snowfall totals for the Eastern UP! In December there was a snowmobiler in the Museum who said he stepped off the trail to move a tree and sunk up to his waist. We just had some snowmobilers at the Museum and they said the trails were good, especially for this time of year! The last mile through the swamp into Naubinway is even good this year. I have had several snowmobilers in the Museum this week who came in from the East and said the trails are better here on the southern end of the UP. There is still lots of traffic in the northern UP. The trails officially close March 31. After that date, you can legally still ride on State land. Some landowners may shut down their part of the trail after that date. We want to thank the Curtis Area Trail Association for their fantastic grooming job they did this year and for everyone who came to the Museum!
Come to Naubinway and enjoy the ride and the Museum by snowmobile or car! Always remember, Ride Right!!! Don't forget we're open 9-5 every day. It's a great place to warm up, have some hot chocolate and see a great collection of old snowmobiles and memorabilia.
Don't forget you can stay in Naubinway and travel anywhere on the trails from here. Contact the Adoba and Naubinway Hotel for a place to stay overnight. The Cove Bar is always open with great food. MooFinFries and Village Pizza are open on the weekends.
While you are in the area, be sure to check out the Top of the Lake Snowmobile Museum in Naubinway. Trail 2 comes into Naubinway and follow the trail through Naubinway. You will drive in front of the new Museum, which opened in Oct. 2013. There is plenty of room to park your sleds and you can see a fantastic variety of 195+ sleds and memorabilia from the past. The regular hours are 9-5 pm, every day, all year, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. 906-477-6298. Admission: $5 for adult, Kids 16 & under - Free
Be sure to check out the new website for the Naubinway/Engadine area: topofthelake.org and the Museum site, www.snowmobilemuseum.com. You can drive your snowmobiles to the Naubinway Marina and take your picture with the new monument for the Northernmost Point of Lake Michigan on Lake Michigan at the Marina! Drive safely!!!
