SNOWFALL & TRAIL CONDITIONS

Snowfall: 31."

  • Trails are currently being opened. Expect early season conditions- water, mud, rocks, sticks, trees down around every corner.

    • We have extensive damage due to wind and ice before the snow. Trail opening will take time. We will update here as we get trails opened. Expect to have low hanging brush, tree limbs, etc until more grooming passes are made.
    • Please visit the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club Facebook page for additional info
    • Snowmobile Trail Closures
      • Portage Lake Lift Bridge snowmobile trail is CLOSED
      • Private trails north of Calumet to Copper Harbor are CLOSED. Until trails can be groomed and opened.
      • Trail 130- Between Eagle Harbor and Eagle River due to active Logging. You can access both Eagle Harbor and Eagle River via their spur trails, but cannot connect between them on trail 130. We anticipate the trail opening mid-December.
      • Trail 124- Between Trail 3 at Vansville and the 122/124 Intersection. This closure is due to logging. Please stay out of the area or risk permanent trail closure. The area is marked with signs. We anticipate the trail opening at the beginning of January. We will open the trail and update as soon as we can.
      • Trail 133- Closed until 12/15 for private land owners who are hunting. Please respect this closure or risk losing the trail.
        • Please respect private land owner rights. We can't have a trail system without their support.
