TRAIL REPORT

March 2nd, 2009

WE STILL HAVE SNOW.  Temperatures have been good and the snow has continued to fall. The added snow is great. The trails from Hancock to Twin Lakes are reported to be in good condition as are the trails from Hancock to Copper Harbor. The groomers are out and about. Make sure you remember they have the right of way. The protective mat on the Portage Lake Lift bridge is ready for use. DO NOT USE THE ICE AS ANOTHER WAY TO CROSS BETWEEN HOUGHTON AND HANCOCK. Houghton county –32 inches on the ground,233.5 inches fallen to date
Keweenaw county – 27 inches on the ground,252.7 inches fallen to date

Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. Wind chill values between zero and 10. South wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 16. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around -14. Calm wind.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Wind chill values between -5 and -15. Calm wind becoming south southwest around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 11. Southeast wind around 6 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 32. South southeast wind between 6 and 8 mph.
